On Feb 26th, the National Institute on Retirement Security released a new report, "Pensionomics: Measuring the Economic Impact of State and Local Pension Plans." The report finds that nationally, state and local pension plans supported more than 2.5 million US jobs, $358 billion in economic impact, and $57 billion in tax revenue. The report also provides state-by-state fact sheets outlining the impacts in all fifty states.
